Dr. Rupal is a Board-Certified Pediatrician in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago where she lives with her husband, 3 children, and adorable puppy. She completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Chicago, in Chicago, IL. She then went on to The University of Illinois in Chicago for medical school. She did her training in General Pediatrics at Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL.Dr. Rupal is in private practice with Associates in Pediatrics and is affiliated with St. Alexius Medical Center, Advocate Sherman Hospital, and Northwest Community Healthcare. She first learned of SMA when her youngest daughter was diagnosed with SM at the age of 5. Since then she has been passionate about raising awareness of childhood anxiety disorders such as SM, particularly in the medical community. Dr. Upadhyay joined the Board of Directors of the Selective Mutism Association in January of 2022 and continues to play an active role in educating her patients and community on selective mutism.
