Dr. Maayan Shorer is a clinical psychologist and a senior lecturer at the Clinical Psychology Department of Ruppin Academic Center, Israel. With an extensive experience in treating children with Selective Mutism (SM), she has previously served as the head of the SM unit of Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel and currently serves as its clinical supervisor. Her research is primarily focused on understanding the effectiveness of treatment for SM and the role of parental practices in its development. She has also conducted research on PTSD in children and the impact of parental playfulness on children’s emotional adjustment. The findings of these studies were published in academic journals and presented at professional conferences.
